Genesis 50 - Jacob's Burial and Grieving Our Loved Ones
Genesis 50:1-14 – Jacob’s Burial & Grieving Our Loved Ones
Series: Genesis
Genesis 50 - Jacob's Burial & Grieving Our Loved Ones. How do we process grief after the death of a loved one? Jacob dies and Joseph and his brothers mourn the loss of the last patriarch of Israel. Although the sorrow and pain of losing Jacob is evident, we see Joseph clinging to the truth of God's Word as an anchor and comfort for his soul. Not only does the Bible help us understand and walk through grief, but Joseph models how to "Honor Your Father and Mother" in life and death. In a society that often puts the aged away, God's Word teaches his people to care for their aging parents and grandparents! Listen to Pastor JC's sermon from Genesis 50 - Jacob's Burial & Grieving Our Loved Ones, and understand that even in affliction our faith and joy grow deeper in Christ.
In Tidal Waves of GRIEF the TRUTH of the GOSPEL is the ANCHOR for Our Souls
"But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus."
- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NKJV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/1th/4/13-14/s_1115013

"For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words."

The Supernatural Power of a Father’s Blessing
Jacob Speaks According to God’s Will
"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."
"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Life is Found in an Eternal Relationship with Jesus
“Jacob did not yield up the ghost [his spirit] until he had delivered the last sentence of admonition and benediction to his twelve sons. He was immortal till his work was done. So long as God had another sentence to speak by him, death could not paralyze his tongue.”

    Genesis 48 – Jacob’s Last Words
    Series: Genesis
    Genesis 48, Jacob's Last Words.
Words are powerful. Carefully chosen and well thought out, the last words a person speaks from their deathbed are incredibly significant. Last words reveal what is preeminent, what matters most. Joseph brings his sons Ephraim and Manasseh to his father Jacob to hear his last words. As a result, profound wisdom and supernatural blessings are spoken upon their lives. Jacob adopts and grafts Ephraim and Manasseh into the 12 tribes of Israel. Thus, giving Joseph a double portion of the inheritance! There is also a divine correlation between Jacob adopting Joseph’s “Egyptian” sons and our adoption as Gentiles into the family of God. As a parent, a spouse or even as a friend may we learn from Jacob that our words make a profound impact on the lives of others. Listen to Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 48, Jacob's Last Words, and be encouraged to speak words of life to others!
Israel adopts Ephraim & Manasseh as his own sons
Joseph is a prophetic prefigure King Jesus: HIS GENTILE SONS ARE GRAFTED INTO RECEIVE ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD!

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call him, 'Abba, Father.' For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory."

    Proverbs 18:21 NKJV   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/pro/18/21/s_646021
There is often OPPOSITION to the proclamation of God’s Word
God honors the honest proclamation of His Word

"For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void (empty), but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

    Genesis 46:30-47:28 – God Builds a Man (Part 11)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 46:30-47:28 - God Builds a Man (Part 11). Joseph, a Prefigure of King Jesus, sets his family apart in the land of Goshen.  In tremendous wisdom, Joseph establishes a place in Egypt where Jacob and his family can grow in their walk with the Lord and not be caught up in the trappings of the land.  How do you keep yourself and your family from falling prey to the myriad of temptations the world has to offer?  Listen to Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 46:30-47:28 - God Builds a Man (Part 11), and learn how to pursue a sanctified life rooted in God's will!

Our personal SANCTIFICATION TO GOD is vital to our spiritual health

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice; holy, and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed, by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove (experience) what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God."

"For this is the will of God, your sanctification."

    Genesis 46-47 - God Builds a Man (Part 11)

"If you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them."
Insights from a 130-year-old believer: 1) LIFE IS INCREDIBLY SHORT.  2) THIS WORLD IS NOT OUR HOME. 3) WE ARE NOT AMAZING. BUT GOD IS.
"Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower and fades away; he flees like a shadow and does not continue....His days are determined, the number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass."

"LORD, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know (understand) how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is as nothing before You. Certainly, every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah."

"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit'; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.' But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin."
Look at all the magnificent things GOD HAS DONE FOR JACOB! Two possible responses to God’s abundant grace in our life: 1) AN UNGRATEFUL HEART
    2) A HEART MOVED WITH GRATITUDE FOR JESUS

    Genesis 45:18-46:30 – God Builds a Man (Part 10)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 45:18-46:30 - God Builds a Man (Part 10).  Joseph, a Prefigure of King Jesus, calls his family to leave their old life behind and begin anew in Egypt.  Joseph's incredible invitation leads his brothers to repent of their sin and move forward in their relationship with their father, Jacob.   Do you have unrepentant sin in your life?  Confess your sin and walk in the center of God's will!    Listen to Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 45:18-46:30 - God Builds a Man (Part 10), which reveals six incredible promises of God to Israel reminding us; God does not change!

AS WE STEP OUT IN FAITH INTO NEW TERRITORY we are prone to become TROUBLED ALONG THE WAY
WHEN WE REPENT OF OUR SIN AND MOVE FORWARD IN FAITH WE GROW (Psalm 32) Jacob learns his son JOSEPH IS ALIVE!
God gives Israel 6 promises to hold onto:
    1) I AM THE ONE TRUE GOD WHO MADE A COVENANT WITH YOUR FATHER ABRAHAM
    2) HAVE NO FEAR GOING TO EGYPT
    3) I WILL MAKE ISRAEL A GREAT NATION THERE
    4) I WILL BE WITH YOU
    5) I WILL BRING ISRAEL BACK INTO THE PROMISE LAND
    6) YOU WILL BE REUNITED WITH YOUR SON JOSEPH THE REST OF YOUR DAYS

"For I am the LORD, I do not change. Therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob."

"He (God) said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years. And also the nation whom they serve I will judge; afterward they shall come out with great possessions."

"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

"I will establish My covenant between Me and you (Abraham) and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

    Romans 11:8 NKJV

For the LORD has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, namely, the seers. The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I am not literate.”Isaiah 29:9–12 NKJV
"For I do not desire, brethren (the Church), that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And (then) all Israel will be saved, as it is written."

    Genesis 41:1-52 - God Builds a Man Part 5
Genesis 41:1-46- Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 5)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 41:1-46 - Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 5). Joseph, an incredible historical figure and a Prefigure of King Jesus, is a powerful testimony of how God builds character through our trials and tribulations. After enduring years of false imprisonment, God moves mightily and Joseph goes from a prison cell to the palace of Pharaoh, King of Egypt! What makes a great leader? Although Joseph could have taken credit for his ability to interpret dreams, he instead points Pharaoh to the true King above all kings. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 41:1-46 - Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 5), reveals profound insight to God's desire to conform you into the image of Jesus and fashion you into a substantial leader in His Kingdom.

Pharaoh’s spiritual advisors are UTTERLY WORTHLESS

"The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; eyes they have, but they do not see. They have ears, but they do not hear; nor is there any breath in their mouths. Those who make them are like them; so is everyone who trusts in them."
Want Truth? Want life? WORSHIP JESUS AS LORD Joseph has been through A TON OF HARDSHIP
God has a goal He wants to accomplish in your life: to conform you into THE IMAGE OF JESUS

    Genesis 41:1-52 - God Builds a Man Part 5

"We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son."

"Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus."

    Genesis 40-41 - God Builds a Man Part 4
Genesis 40:16-23. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 4)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 40:16-23. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 4). Have you ever wondered, "Why does God allow evil and suffering?" The incredible account of Joseph, a Prefigure of King Jesus, reveals how God builds men and women through difficulties and disappointments. After a moment of hope, Joseph is forgotten by the Chief Butler and remains in prison for two more years! Although Joseph's trial is substantial, it does not diminish God's faithfulness in his life or your life today. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 40:16-23. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 4), is a powerful reminder of God's sovereign work being accomplished even in the darkest moments of life!

CHIEF BAKER and the BUTLER / CUPBEARER are sent to prison
God is using Joseph’s life as a PROPHETIC FORESHADOW OF JESUS
"No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven."

'When He (Jesus) ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. Now this, “He ascended”, what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.'

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient."

God is using Joseph’s life as a prophetic foreshadow of Jesus Joseph – a prophetic prefigure of King Jesus

    Genesis 40-41 - God Builds a Man Part 4
God can appear to be ABSENT or CRUEL at times

"You have dealt well with Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word. Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe Your commandments. Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I keep Your word. You are good, and (You) do good. Teach me Your statutes."

GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY, FAITHFULNESS, & GOODNESS ARE NEVER DIMINISHED even when gross injustice seems to prevail
"Trials may be viewed from two standpoints, and it will make all the difference to our spiritual life and peace which of these two points of view we take.  From the human side Joseph’s suffering was due to injustice on the part of Potiphar, and ingratitude on the part of the butler. From the Divine side these years were permitted for the purpose of training and preparing Joseph for the great work that God lay before him. If we look only at the human side of trial we shall become discouraged, irritated and angered, but as we turn to look at it from the Divine side we shall see God in everything and all things working together for our good." - Griffith Thomas
"Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait on the LORD, they shall inherit the earth."

Genesis 40:1-15 - Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 3). The incredible true story of Joseph, a Prefigure of King Jesus, continues to reveal how God builds men and women through the trials of life.  Wrongfully accused, Joseph is in prison and instead of wallowing in his sorrow he is a servant leader to all! In times of hardship we are prone to self pity, but Joseph is faithful in the small things, which leads to him being used in mighty ways for the Lord. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 40 - God Builds a Man (Part 3), encourages the weary and downtrodden to recognize God is at work to build them into someone prepared and equipped to impact God's Kingdom!

    Genesis 39 - God Builds a Man
Genesis 39:11-23. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 2)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 39:11-23 - Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 2). God sovereignly uses Joseph, a young man, to prophetically foretell Jesus’ life, rejection, death, and His rise to fame and power as the Savior of the world! This incredible story continues with Joseph being wrongfully accused of a sexual crime he did not commit and is thrown into prison! Although we are prone to feel sorry for Joseph and ourselves in times of hardship, God's Word clearly reveals that character is built through the furnace of adversity. Learn the value of walking in obedience to God's Word as we are bombarded with sexual temptation. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 39:11-23 - Joseph - God Builds a Man (Part 2), provides profound insight on how a follower of Christ should flee from sexuality immorality in order to grow as a man/woman of exceptional character!

How did Joseph thrive in adversity?

    1) He had great reverence for God

    2) He was full of gratitude to God

    3) He honored the authority God placed over him

The Bible instructs us to FLEE SEXUAL IMMORALITY

"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
    The Blame Game
    Genesis 39 - God Builds a Man

Commonly used tactics of the ungodly:

    1) USING RACE MALICIOUSLY

    2) MALIGNING OTHERS TO JUSTIFY SELF

Joseph faces harsh adversity once again

God is at work in our lives in both prosperity & adversity

"Our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."

Godly character - cannot be built in a vacuum – or by a magic wand.

Character, like gold, must be refined in the furnace of adversity

Joseph rises above dire adversity by BEING OBEDIENT TO GOD’S WORD

    Genesis 37:18 – 39:10. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 1)
    Series: Genesis

Genesis 37:18-36_39:1-10 - God Builds a Man, demonstrates how God often may allow very difficult circumstances in our lives, as He does here with Joseph. Joseph's brothers first plot to kill him out of there envy of him, and then later decide to sell him into slavery at the tender age of seventeen.  This story is an example of the human depravity and the extent his brothers go through to justify and cover up their sin.  Joseph, a prophetic prefigure of King Jesus, is an amazing example for us, of how to continue to trust God and be faithful, even when life is not fair.  Genesis 37:18-36_39:1-10 - God Builds a Man, is a great message that will help us understand how God wants us to respond to our own adversity.

THE DEPRAVITY OF MAN IS APPALLING

The Apostle Paul wrote quoting many Old Testament Scriptures: As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit; The poison of asps is under their lips; Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known. “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Genesis 37:1-22, Joseph a Prefigure of King Jesus. God sovereignly begins using Joseph, a seventeen-year-old young man, to prophetically foretell Jesus’ life, rejection, death, and his rise to fame and power as the Savior of the world! This amazing story begins with his brothers (the tribes of Israel) envying Joseph and seeking to kill him. As Joseph's oldest brother Rueben seeks to pacify his sibling's murderous plan, he fails to stand for truth which always allows evil to prevail. Here we also learn practical application regarding our need to stand firm against the evil agendas being propagated in our day. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 37, 'Joseph a Prefigure of King Jesus', provides profound insight on how a follower of Christ can walk by faith, stand for truth, and find victory!

But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. Genesis 35:16-29 - What happens when we die? Like Jacob, all of us experience the sting and sorrow of death when our family and beloved friends die. Jacob loses the love of his life, his wife Rachel, and his father Isaac. Although the Bible is silent on Jacob's heartache, God's Word provides profound insight that brings comfort and truth to life's most significant question! Life after death is a reality for all people, but how do we navigate the veracity of heaven and hell? Pastor Dave's sermon from Genesis 35, 'What happens when we die?', brings clarity and understanding that will build your faith in God's eternal plan for you!

JACOB LOSES RACHEL - THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE

God’s people are not immune to LIFE’S HARDSHIPS

A Prophetic Foreshadow of Jesus: Ben-Oni: SON OF MY SORROW; Benjamin: SON OF MY RIGHT HAND

"Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? For He (Jesus) shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."

    Isaiah 53:1–5 NKJV

Genesis 35 - What Happens When We Die?

'...And the high priest answered and said to Him (Jesus), “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” 64 Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. And I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”'

    Matthew 26:63–64 NKJV

"The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God. He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor, at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven."

    Hebrews 1:3 NLT

    REUBEN’S HEINOUS SIN

    THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL

WHAT HAPPENS TO US WHEN WE DIE?

"I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. He (God) has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also put eternity in their hearts."

    Ecclesiastes 3:10–11 NKJV

LIFE AFTER DEATH – A REALITY FOR ALL PEOPLE

"Those who sleep in the dust of the earth (died) shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever."

    Daniel 12:2–3 NKJV

"...All who are in the graves will hear His (Jesus) voice and come forth: those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."

    John 5:28–29 NKJV

WHERE DO WE GO WHEN WE DIE? (Luke 16)

Before Jesus’ cross everyone WENT TO HADES when they died

All who die in faith of Jesus’ work on the cross ARE WITH JESUS IN HEAVEN the moment they die

'When He (Jesus) ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.” Now this, “He ascended”- what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth. 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.'

    Ephesians 4:8–10 NKJV

"In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

This sermon reveals the value of brokenness and the importance of surrendering our life to a loving God. Jacob has always schemed, planned and used his own strength to benefit himself. Nevertheless, he finds himself alone with God and in a wrestling match that will change his life forever! When we surrender our life to Jesus, He transforms our character and identity. You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. With Jesus we live in PEACE

Jesus doesn’t write us off WHEN WE SIN MISERABLY

Jesus wants to USE YOUR LIFE in powerful ways!

    We’ve all sinned AGAINST GOD

PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO ATONEMENT FOR THEIR SIN WILL FACE THE WRATH OF GOD

    Revelation 21:8

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."

"Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books..."

Jesus provides ATONEMENT for all who make Him Lord

Jesus empowers us with His Spirit TO LIVE A NEW LIFE

"But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will be saved.”

Luke 28-40 - Jesus the Lord of All
Luke 19:28-40 – Jesus the Lord of All
Luke 19:28-40 - Jesus the Lord of All. Without a doubt, Jesus fulfilled the Messianic details of the Old Testament Scriptures. This sermon explores the incredible truth of Jesus the Lord of All and points us directly to undeniable prophecy fulfilled with His entrance into Jerusalem. Luke's Gospel, in conjunction with Isaiah 53 and Psalm 118, reveals the profound depth of Jesus' sovereignty and why this aspect of His immutable character matters to you! Even if you've already read and heard the story of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, you won't want to miss the significance of a Savior who reveals the value of His Lordship over your life.  Pastor Dave's sermon from Luke 19 - Jesus the Lord of All, will inspire your desire to make Jesus Lord of your life, heart and future!

Luke 18:31 - JESUS THE LORD OF ALL
Remarkable Prophecies made by Jesus: 1) The ancient prophecies about the Messiah would be fulfilled in Jerusalem 2) Jesus will be delivered to the Gentiles for trial 3) Jesus will be mocked, insulted, and spat upon 4) Jesus will be scourged by the Romans 5) Jesus will be killed
    6) The third day, Jesus will resurrect from the dead

Luke 28-40 - Jesus the Lord of All
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly (humble) and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey."
JESUS is the LORD OF ALL - SOVEREIGN MAR 14, 445 BC Artaxerxes issued a command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (Nehemiah 2)
"And it will be said in that day: 'Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.'"
PSALM 118  Jesus is Lord of our lives Jesus is Lord of our heart
"He was wounded for our transgressions (sins against God), He was bruised for our iniquities (immorality, deception, selfishness, arrogance, sin); The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."

"I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."

"The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them. The LORD preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy."

John 2 - Easter 2023, Jesus Plan of Salvation, Redemption: The Man, The Plan, The Power of God
John 2:1-12 – Redemption: The Man, The Plan, The Power of God
John 2:1-12 - Redemption. With exquisite detail, God’s plan of salvation was planned before the creation of the universe. This sermon dives into the marvelous details of God’s plan and looks intently at understanding the humanity of Jesus. With awe we discover that Jesus' first miracle at a wedding in Cana has far greater doctrinal significance than one could ever imagine. This first, seemingly innocuous miracle of Jesus, reveals significant doctrinal truths that must be explored and understood. If you thought this story was only about Jesus turning water into wine, you have missed the forest through the trees. Pastor Dave's sermon from John 2:1-12, Redemption, looks at the profound details of God’s plan of salvation that will strengthen your faith and fill your heart with even greater reverence for Jesus.

John 2 - Redemption: The Man, The Plan, The Power of God
15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.

JESUS CHOSE TO MANIFEST HIS DIVINE POWER AS MESSIAH at a wedding in Cana. What did Jesus turn into wine? WATER FOR CEREMONIAL CLEANSING The purpose of all religious ceremony is now FULFILLED IN JESUS
1 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come, instead of the true form of these realities, it can never… make perfect those who draw near…
    Hebrews 10:1 ESV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/esv/heb/10/1/s_1143001

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. 5 Therefore, when He (Jesus) came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. 6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come, in the volume of the book it is written of Me, to do Your will, O God.’”

    Genesis 31:22-55 – Jacob’s Conflict (Part 2)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 31:22-55, Jacob's Conflict (Part 2), When it comes to building meaningful relationships, the rewards of obeying God’s Word are profound. On the flip side, the pain and dysfunction sin brings into relationships is downright brutal. Many people, like Jacob, hate conflict in relationships and they avoid it at all cost. On the surface, avoiding conflict sounds great! But the results are destructive and painful for all. This sermon from Genesis 31:22-55, Jacob's Conflict (Part 2), will equip you with wise, powerful Biblical instruction so that you can have healthy conflict resolution skills that will help you build meaningful relationships for life.

Passive Aggressive Behavior DEGENERATES OUR INTEGRITY

Passive Aggressive Behavior INCREASES FUTURE HARDSHIPS

Jesus said: there are two paths in life: BROAD & EASY, NARROW & DIFFICULT

    Genesis 31 - Jacob's Conflict Pt. 2
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matthew 7:13–14, NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/mat/7/13-14/s_936013

COCKROACHES LOVE DARKNESS, GOD’S PEOPLE LOVE LIGHT

"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."

    John 3:19–21, NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jhn/3/19-21/s_1000019

In confronting others, we are often TOO SELF-RIGHTEOUS to see truth

The most important part of conflict resolution? DEMONSTRATING YOU UNDERSTAND THE OTHER PERSON’S PARADIGM

The way we love others REFLECTS HOW WE TREAT GOD

"If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?"
