Questions Jesus Asked, Part 4 – In Matthew 14 we watch Peter walk on water only to take his eyes off Jesus and begin to sink. Jesus asks him, “Why did you doubt?” It would be easy to blame the roaring wind or the crashing waves, but the troubles surrounding Peter are not the problem. Peter’s issue is his little faith causing him to doubt Jesus. We all struggle with doubt, but we also make excuses which hinder our faith. In Luke 22 Jesus’ disciples fall asleep when they are told to pray, and Jesus asks them “Why do you sleep?” Like the disciples, we all fall into spiritual laziness and Jesus commands us to watch and pray! This relatable message from Pastor JC Cooper will bring awareness to your doubts and spiritual laziness in order to grow your faith and spiritual passion for Jesus. We hope you enjoy this message: Questions Jesus Asked – Part 4.

Questions Jesus Asked: “Why do You Doubt Me?” – Matthew 14:31

Life is Full of Troubles! We All Struggle with Doubt

Doubt Arises when Your Eyes Leave Jesus and Focus on Your Troubles

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

– John 16:33 (NKJV)

“And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News. That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the One in whom I trust, and I am sure that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until the day of His return.”

Faith Overcomes Doubt when Your Eyes are Fixed on JESUS

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”

not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit
indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.'”
