Sermon Notes

Genesis Epilogue, understanding the heart of God.
We often wonder why a loving God created a world with so much pain, evil, and suffering. This sermon answers that question. This sermon will prove this world is the best world that could be created. Reflecting on the entire book of Genesis reveals the depths of God’s design, character and even His desires. God’s glory is revealed in many ways, in the beauty of a sunset, in the diversity of animal life, and in the majesty of the universe. However, in the grandeur of everything God made, He specifically made man to bear His image and to know His mind, heart and will. Don’t miss Pastor David’s powerful sermon, the Genesis Epilogue, Understanding the heart of God!

God wants to be KNOWN

“What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, so that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?”
Man has little interest in KNOWING GOD

Genesis: Epilogue - Understanding the Heart of God

GOD PURSUES MAN with vigorous passion and marvelous grace

The Pearl of Great Price:

“The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.”

God’s detailed plan of SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST was laid out before the foundation of the earth

What is God making man to be?

“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over… all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

“God desires to fill the universe with a lot of little replicas of Himself-like creatures, whose life, on a miniature scale, will be qualitatively like His own, not because He has absorbed them – but because their will freely conforms to His.”
– C.S. Lewis

“Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?… Do you not know that we shall judge angels?”
