The Greatest Miracle – Matthew 27, Luke 15 (Title Slide)

“He was cut off from the land of the living. For the transgressions of My people He was

stricken. And they made His grave with the wicked, but with the rich at His death.”

THE CRUCIFIXION of JESUS is the GREATEST MIRACLE in the UNIVERSE Because Jesus is the One, True, Living God who created the universe.

“All of us, like sheep, have strayed away (from God). We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD has laid on Him (Jesus) the sins of us all.”

Matthew 27 - The Greatest Miracle

“And the LORD passed before him (Moses) and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but by no means clearing the guilty.”

Jesus was not a victim on the cross. He was a Savior on the cross.

The Bible plainly says JESUS IS GOD (and it says it repeatedly)

“He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”

“All things were made through Him (Jesus), and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

‘“I and My Father are one.” Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”’

We should not think it strange that God would come to us to save us

One look at the world and IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS WE CANNOT SAVE OURSELVES

We need God.

• We need divine forgiveness.

• We need divine healing.

• We need divine guidance.

• Jesus came to give us all these things

the parable of the PRODIGAL SON – Luke 15

Jesus taught this parable because HE WANTS SINNERS TO COME HOME TO HIM

THE GREATEST MIRACLE IN THE UNIVERSE IS THAT JESUS PAID IT ALL TO SAVE YOU
