Genesis 40 - God Builds a Man Pt 3
Genesis 40:1-15. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 3)
Series: Genesis
Genesis 40:1-15 - Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 3). The incredible true story of Joseph, a Prefigure of King Jesus, continues to reveal how God builds men and women through the trials of life.  Wrongfully accused, Joseph is in prison and instead of wallowing in his sorrow he is a servant leader to all! In times of hardship we are prone to self pity, but Joseph is faithful in the small things, which leads to him being used in mighty ways for the Lord. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 40 - God Builds a Man (Part 3), encourages the weary and downtrodden to recognize God is at work to build them into someone prepared and equipped to impact God's Kingdom!

    Genesis 39 - God Builds a Man
Genesis 39:11-23. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 2)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 39:11-23 - Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 2). God sovereignly uses Joseph, a young man, to prophetically foretell Jesus’ life, rejection, death, and His rise to fame and power as the Savior of the world! This incredible story continues with Joseph being wrongfully accused of a sexual crime he did not commit and is thrown into prison! Although we are prone to feel sorry for Joseph and ourselves in times of hardship, God's Word clearly reveals that character is built through the furnace of adversity. Learn the value of walking in obedience to God's Word as we are bombarded with sexual temptation. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 39:11-23 - Joseph - God Builds a Man (Part 2), provides profound insight on how a follower of Christ should flee from sexuality immorality in order to grow as a man/woman of exceptional character!

How did Joseph thrive in adversity?

    1) He had great reverence for God

    2) He was full of gratitude to God

    3) He honored the authority God placed over him

The Bible instructs us to FLEE SEXUAL IMMORALITY

"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
    The Blame Game
    Genesis 39 - God Builds a Man

Commonly used tactics of the ungodly:

    1) USING RACE MALICIOUSLY

    2) MALIGNING OTHERS TO JUSTIFY SELF

Joseph faces harsh adversity once again

God is at work in our lives in both prosperity & adversity

"Our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."

Godly character - cannot be built in a vacuum – or by a magic wand.

Character, like gold, must be refined in the furnace of adversity

Joseph rises above dire adversity by BEING OBEDIENT TO GOD’S WORD

    Genesis 37:18-36_39:1-10 - God Builds a Man
    Genesis 37:18 – 39:10. Joseph, God Builds a Man (Part 1)
    Series: Genesis

Genesis 37:18-36_39:1-10 - God Builds a Man, demonstrates how God often may allow very difficult circumstances in our lives, as He does here with Joseph. Joseph's brothers first plot to kill him out of there envy of him, and then later decide to sell him into slavery at the tender age of seventeen.  This story is an example of the human depravity and the extent his brothers go through to justify and cover up their sin.  Joseph, a prophetic prefigure of King Jesus, is an amazing example for us, of how to continue to trust God and be faithful, even when life is not fair.  Genesis 37:18-36_39:1-10 - God Builds a Man, is a great message that will help us understand how God wants us to respond to our own adversity.

THE DEPRAVITY OF MAN IS APPALLING

The Apostle Paul wrote quoting many Old Testament Scriptures: As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit; The poison of asps is under their lips; Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known. “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

    Genesis 37:18-36_39:1-10 - God Builds a Man

COMING TO JESUS is something we DO CONTINUALLY

Put off your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, that you put on the new man, which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

    Joseph has been grossly mistreated.

    How will he handle it?

    Genesis 39

Joseph worked hard, did not allow himself to be a victim

How do you respond to adversity?

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

Genesis 37:1-22 – Joseph – Prefigure of King Jesus
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 37:1-22, Joseph a Prefigure of King Jesus. God sovereignly begins using Joseph, a seventeen-year-old young man, to prophetically foretell Jesus’ life, rejection, death, and his rise to fame and power as the Savior of the world! This amazing story begins with his brothers (the tribes of Israel) envying Joseph and seeking to kill him. As Joseph's oldest brother Rueben seeks to pacify his sibling's murderous plan, he fails to stand for truth which always allows evil to prevail. Here we also learn practical application regarding our need to stand firm against the evil agendas being propagated in our day. Pastor David's sermon from Genesis 37, 'Joseph a Prefigure of King Jesus', provides profound insight on how a follower of Christ can walk by faith, stand for truth, and find victory!

God has a CALLING on Joseph’s life

We embrace the call of God BY FAITH with preparation

The call of God is always a call TO SERVE OTHERS

ENVY IS A CANKER TO THE SOUL
Genesis 37 - Joseph - A Prefigure of King Jesus
"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.' But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, 'Raca!' shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, 'You fool!' shall be in danger of hell fire."

Genesis 35:16-29 – What Happens When We Die?
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 35:16-29 - What happens when we die? Like Jacob, all of us experience the sting and sorrow of death when our family and beloved friends die. Jacob loses the love of his life, his wife Rachel, and his father Isaac. Although the Bible is silent on Jacob's heartache, God's Word provides profound insight that brings comfort and truth to life's most significant question! Life after death is a reality for all people, but how do we navigate the veracity of heaven and hell? Pastor Dave's sermon from Genesis 35, 'What happens when we die?', brings clarity and understanding that will build your faith in God's eternal plan for you!

JACOB LOSES RACHEL - THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE

God’s people are not immune to LIFE’S HARDSHIPS

A Prophetic Foreshadow of Jesus: Ben-Oni: SON OF MY SORROW; Benjamin: SON OF MY RIGHT HAND

"Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? For He (Jesus) shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."

    Isaiah 53:1–5 NKJV

Genesis 35 - What Happens When We Die?

'...And the high priest answered and said to Him (Jesus), “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” 64 Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. And I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”'

    Matthew 26:63–64 NKJV

"The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God. He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor, at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven."

    Hebrews 1:3 NLT

    REUBEN’S HEINOUS SIN

    THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL

WHAT HAPPENS TO US WHEN WE DIE?

"I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. He (God) has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also put eternity in their hearts."

    Ecclesiastes 3:10–11 NKJV

LIFE AFTER DEATH – A REALITY FOR ALL PEOPLE

"Those who sleep in the dust of the earth (died) shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever."

    Daniel 12:2–3 NKJV

"...All who are in the graves will hear His (Jesus) voice and come forth: those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."

    John 5:28–29 NKJV

WHERE DO WE GO WHEN WE DIE? (Luke 16)

Before Jesus’ cross everyone WENT TO HADES when they died

All who die in faith of Jesus’ work on the cross ARE WITH JESUS IN HEAVEN the moment they die

'When He (Jesus) ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.” Now this, “He ascended”- what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth. 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.'

    Ephesians 4:8–10 NKJV

"In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."

Genesis 32 – Wrestling with God
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 32 - Wrestling with God. Many people have been fighting with God their whole life, and Jacob is no exception. This sermon reveals the value of brokenness and the importance of surrendering our life to a loving God. Jacob has always schemed, planned and used his own strength to benefit himself. Nevertheless, he finds himself alone with God and in a wrestling match that will change his life forever! When we surrender our life to Jesus, He transforms our character and identity. Pastor Dave's sermon from Genesis 32 - Wrestling with God, will encourage your heart that in your darkest times of trouble God draws near to you.

GOD DRAWS NEAR TO US in times of trouble.
“Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven. For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost."
    Matthew 18:10–11 NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/mat/18/10-11/s_947010

"'Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.' But to the wicked God says: 'What right have you to declare My statutes (mercy, kindness, grace), or take My covenant (promises) in your mouth, seeing you hate instruction and cast My words behind you? When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have been a partaker with adulterers. You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. These things you have done, and I kept silent; you thought that I was altogether like you; but I will rebuke you and set them in order before your eyes. Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver: Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.'”

Luke 19:28-40 - Jesus the Lord of All. Without a doubt, Jesus fulfilled the Messianic details of the Old Testament Scriptures. This sermon explores the incredible truth of Jesus the Lord of All and points us directly to undeniable prophecy fulfilled with His entrance into Jerusalem. Luke's Gospel, in conjunction with Isaiah 53 and Psalm 118, reveals the profound depth of Jesus' sovereignty and why this aspect of His immutable character matters to you! John 2:1-12 – Redemption: The Man, The Plan, The Power of God
John 2:1-12 - Redemption. With exquisite detail, God’s plan of salvation was planned before the creation of the universe. This sermon dives into the marvelous details of God’s plan and looks intently at understanding the humanity of Jesus. With awe we discover that Jesus' first miracle at a wedding in Cana has far greater doctrinal significance than one could ever imagine. This first, seemingly innocuous miracle of Jesus, reveals significant doctrinal truths that must be explored and understood. If you thought this story was only about Jesus turning water into wine, you have missed the forest through the trees. Pastor Dave's sermon from John 2:1-12, Redemption, looks at the profound details of God’s plan of salvation that will strengthen your faith and fill your heart with even greater reverence for Jesus.

On the flip side, the pain and dysfunction sin brings into relationships is downright brutal. Many people, like Jacob, hate conflict in relationships and they avoid it at all cost. On the surface, avoiding conflict sounds great! But the results are destructive and painful for all. In Genesis 30:25-43 - The Illusion of Control, Jacob tries to earn God's blessing through his own strength and wit. Like Jacob, why do we try to earn God's favor? If you've been trapped in a performance based relationship with God don't miss a powerful message from Pastor David Menard. Come discover it is God's delight to save and bless you! Genesis 30-31 - The Illusion of Control, invites you to lay down your burden of trying to earn God’s blessings and instead calls you to freely receive His love for you.

WHY DID GOD BLESS JACOB ABUNDANTLY?
    • God promised Abraham
    • God was defending Jacob

'(And the LORD said to Jacob) “I am the LORD, God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Genesis 29 - Jacob in the Mirror
Genesis 29:1-30 – Jacob in the Mirror
    Series: Genesis
In Genesis 29 - Jacob in the Mirror, we learn that without Godly character we turn God's blessings into a mess! Jacob, the son of Isaac, falls in love with Rachel and in spite of his seven years of labor is swindled in the final moment of betrothal. Jacob, the deceiver, comes face to face with his own character deficiencies as God teaches him that the currency of God's Kingdom is selflessness. We often serve out of compulsion and selfishness, but as you listen to Pastor Dave's powerful message from Genesis 29 - Jacob in the Mirror, you will learn the value and power of serving others in love!

GOD SOVEREIGNLY PROVIDES ALL WE NEED AND MORE

WHEN THE MOTIVE IS LOVE SERVING OTHERS IS A JOY
"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."

Genesis 29 - Jacob in the Mirror

JACOB LEARNS HOW IT FEELS TO BE TREATED LIKE HE TREATS OTHERS
"With the merciful, You will show Yourself merciful. With a blameless man, You will show Yourself blameless. With the pure, You will show Yourself pure. And with the devious, You will show Yourself shrewd. For You will save the humble people, but will bring down haughty looks." Psalm 18:25–27 NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/18/25-27/s_496025

WITHOUT GODLY CHARACTER WE TURN GOD’S BLESSINGS INTO A GIANT MESS

Genesis 28:10-28 - Jacob God Builds A Man
Genesis 28:10-22 – Jacob, God Builds a Man
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 28:10-22 - Jacob, God Builds a Man, shows us the lengths God goes through to build His leaders. Despite Jacob’s God-fearing family, a relationship with God was not automatic. In this sermon we see how God reaches out individually to Jacob through a dream to establish a personal relationship with him. Jacob envisions a ladder coming down from heaven in his dream, where angels are going up and down the ladder. God personally comforts Jacob as He recounts the covenant promise he gave to Abraham and Isaac. In Genesis 28:10-22 - Jacob, God Builds a Man, we see how patient God is with Jacob as he still does not fully understand God plan for his life.  The same is true for us today. Our salvation does not occur by being raised in the church, attending youth group, knowing Bible stories, or having parents or a spouse with great faith. We are saved through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God Speaks To The Humble and Broken

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE; Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

Genesis 27-28 - The Danger of Vain Religion
Genesis 27:34-28:9 – The Danger of Vain Religion
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 27:34-28:9 - The Danger of Vain Religion.  The Bible says, “God owns the cattle on a thousand hills.” Yet Esau, like many today, desired to receive God's blessings without ever seeking to know God. What does God do when we come seeking His rich blessings but are not actually seeking Him? To find out, enjoy this powerful message from Pastor David Menard, in Genesis 27 that reveals the heart of God, and The Danger of Vain Religion.

ESAU MOURNS HIS LOSS OF GOD’S BLESSINGS BUT HAS NO DESIRE TO KNOW GOD

"Watch out for the Esau syndrome: trading away God’s lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite. You well know how Esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted God’s blessing - but by then it was too late, tears or no tears."
    Hebrews 12:16–17, (The Message)     https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%2012%3A16-17&version=MSG

WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM GOD?

Genesis 27-28 - The Danger of Vain Religion

"I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."

"I, GOD, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be."

"The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."

"O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it. You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart. These, O God, You will not despise." Psalm 51:15-17, NKJV     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/51/15-17/s_529015

    ESAU HATES HIS BROTHER

"He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes."

    VENGEANCE belongs to the Lord

"‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.'"

    Genesis 27 - Spiritual Imposters
    Genesis 27:1-33 – Spiritual Imposters
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 27:1-33 - Spiritual Imposters, teaches us about the detrimental effect of man’s lack of spiritual leadership in his family. Isaac had ignored God’s instruction to him about which one of his sons he was to pass on the family’s spiritual blessings. Esau was Isaac’s favorite son, a manly man, but he was not the son God had chosen. Isaac’s sin of not following God’s instruction promotes dysfunction in his family. His wife Rebekah and son Jacob fall into the trap of becoming spiritual Imposters as they try to receive the spiritual blessing through their own craftiness and deception. Genesis 27:1-33 – Spiritual Imposters, show us an example of what lengths we, like Jacob will go to, pretending to be someone we are not.

REAL CHARACTER is who we are when no one else is watching

"Oh LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether." Psalm 139:1-4, (NKJV)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/139/1-4/s_617001

Isaac QUIT LEADING HIS FAMILY in his old age

    Men, your family
    NEEDS YOUR LEADERSHIP

If a man fails to lead
HIS OWN WALK WITH GOD IS ADVERSELY AFFECTED

God may not remove temptation but
HE ALWAYS GIVES US A WAY OUT

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man. But God is faithful, He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation (God) will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

Jacob attempts to gain a SPIRITUAL BLESSING by pretending to be someone he’s not

BEING AN IMPOSTER IS TOXIC TO OUR SOUL

RIGHTEOUSNESS can only be received as A GIFT FROM JESUS

For all (of us) have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness.
    Romans 3:23-25, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rom/3/23-25/s_1049023

"Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law."
    Romans 3:27-28, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rom/3/27-28/s_1049027

"Abraham was, humanly speaking, the founder of our Jewish nation. What did he discover about being made right with God? If his good deeds had made him acceptable to God, he would have had something to boast about. But that was not God’s way. For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

Genesis 26:1-14 – How God Leads
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 26:1-14 - How God Leads. How we react to problems and trials reveals a lot about who we are. Isaac was faced with a difficult event in his life. He had the choice to obey God's voice or to try and deal with the issue in his own way. Like Isaac, we are prone to search for a quick fix or rely on our own abilities when facing trials and hardship. Listen to an insightful message from Pastor David Menard and learn the truth in Genesis 26:1-14 about How God Leads you through trying circumstances.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit."

'Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.”'

    Acts 8:26-40 – A Believer’s Baptism
    Series: Topical
Acts 8:26-40 - A Believer's Baptism answers the question of do you need to be baptized in order to be saved? In Acts 8, Philip experiences a radical encounter with a high-powered Ethiopian on a desert road and leads the man to saving faith in Jesus. Baptism does not lead to salvation or the washing away of sins, but baptism is a command from Jesus and a believer's response of obedience! Don't miss Pastor JC Cooper's message, Acts 8:26-40 A Believer's Baptism, and grow in your understanding of why you should be baptized.

The Apostle Paul wrote: "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.  Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Matthew 1-2 – The Omnipotent King And His Kingdom Eternal
Matthew 1-2, The Omnipotent King And His Kingdom Eternal, the birth of Jesus is the beginning of the greatest event in human history. 2000 years later multitudes across the world still celebrate His birth. But what are we celebrating? The Bible reveals that this event was the birth of the final King of the earth. Yet for most, Jesus is not seen as King, and His Kingdom remains an enigma. This message in Matthew 1-2, examines The Omnipotent King and His Kingdom Eternal.

Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed."

Genesis 25 – A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 25 - A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit, God reveals, through the birth of Jacob and Esau, amazing insights into the ongoing struggle of our fleshly, carnal desires that fight against the godly desires of the Spirit.  We see that many people today are completely controlled by their bodily appetites (food, drink, greed, lust, sex, pride, etc.). However, contrary to popular opinion, our lives are not to be controlled by the desires of our sinful flesh. God commands us to be responsible in our actions. If you've ever struggled with wanting to do what is right but felt puled by your flesh in the wrong direction this study is for you. As Abraham comes to the end of his life, the Covenant God made with him is passed on to Isaac. Isaac and Rebekah have twin sons, Jacob and Esau.  This chronic battle is revealed in the lives of Jacob and Esau in many ways, even from conception the two boys wrestle in the womb. Listen to this teaching from Pastor David Menard to find victory in the battle of the flesh vs. the Spirit. Genesis 25 - A Prophetic Look at the Flesh VS Spirit.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.  By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.  Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

Genesis 21 - The Faithfulness of God
Genesis 21:1-14 – The Faithfulness of God
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 21:1-14 - The Faithfulness of God, Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years into their old age to have a child and for God to fulfill His promise. Despite Sarah being menopausal and Abraham being 100 years old, God's promise comes true and Isaac is born! Like Abraham, many Christians experience extensive periods of waiting on the Lord that result in doubt, fear and even an attempt to take matters into your own hands. Genesis 21:1-14 - The Faithfulness of God, Pastor David's message reveals the certainty of God's promises not by your own effort, but instead by faith.

Take comfort in the faithfulness of God
This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure (hardship / trials), we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful (to judge us), He cannot deny Himself.

Genesis 21 - The Faithfulness of God
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

GOD’S PROMISES CAN ONLY BE RECEIVED BY FAITH
THEY CANNOT BE EARNED BY HUMAN EFFORT

For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman (was born) through (God’s) promise, which things are symbolic.
    Galatians 4:22-23, NKJV    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/gal/4/22-23/s_1095022

But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman." So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. Series: Topical
In 1 John 1-2, The Assurance of Knowing Jesus, John expresses the perfect character of God as the initiating truth in our relationship with Jesus. Our merit, self righteousness and hard work can never earn God's favor because He has chosen us to be in relationship with Him through the blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all sin. Like a child in a trusting relationship with a loving dad, we obey God's Word as a loving response to His love for us. Therefore, we confess our sins knowing that repentance assures us of our relationship with Jesus who is faithful and just to forgive us. Listen to Sunday's message from 1 John 1-2, The Assurance of Knowing Jesus, and be encouraged that we can be assured of our salvation!

Genesis 16 - When Faith Falters
Genesis 16 – When Faith Falters
    Series: Genesis
In Genesis 16 - When Faith Falters, Abram and Sarai allow their emotions to drive their decisions instead of God's Word. Their marriage and life suffer as a result. The compounding effects of sin can lead to significant dysfunction in marriage and relationships. It all began with a male spiritual leadership as Abram chose the easier path and capitulated on the truth of God's Word. Listen to Genesis 16 -When Faith Falters and experience how this message relates perfectly to the common problems we are facing as a culture today.

    COMMON DYSFUNCTIONS IN MARRIAGE:
    • Emotional Decision Making
    • The Blame Game
    • Lack of Male Spiritual Leadership

“The husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

Why Abram abdicated his role as spiritual leader to Sarai: 1)  It Was the Easier Path
    2)  It Appealed to His Fleshly Desires 3)  He Compromised the Integrity of God’s Word

Genesis 15 - The Abrahamic Covenant (Part 2) reveals the mercy and unconditional love of God for His people. Like Abraham, many of us battle with fears and worries about our current circumstances or our future. God reminds Abraham of the promises in His Word and Abraham responds by waiting on the Lord. Waiting on God is not easy when we are stressed and afraid, but in Genesis 15 - Abrahamic Covenant (Part 2), the Good News of Jesus provides comfort and assurance now and in the future, for ages to come!  The Abrahamic Covenant - Part II, Genesis 15  Contents of the Abrahamic Covenant

Genesis 14:17-24 – Melchizedek – King of Righteousness
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 14:17-24 - Melchizedek - King of Righteousness shows us that this king who seems to come out of nowhere is really a precursor to Jesus. Abram has just rescued his nephew Lot along with all the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah. The King of Sodom and Melchizedek the King of Salem want to meet with Abram and they both offer something to him. Genesis 14:17-24 - Melchizedek - King of Righteousness reveals that Abram has finally found freedom in walking in God’s ways by how he responds to both kings. Genesis 14 - Melchizedek - King of Righteousness Abram Would Not Allow Anything From Sodom and Gomorrah to Come into His Life / Home Abram Sanctifies Himself to God
The Apostle Paul wrote:  “Don't you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.” Romans 6:16, (NLT)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nlt/rom/6/16/s_1052016

And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes, that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.” Deuteronomy 17:18-20, (NKJV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/deu/17/18-20/s_170018

In the book of Hebrews is says:   “...the forerunner has entered (heaven) for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated ‘king of righteousness,’ and then also king of Salem, meaning ‘king of peace,’ without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.” Hebrews 6:20-7:3, (NKJV)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/6/20-7/s_1139020

‘“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" The Levitical Priesthood Was a Weak and Unprofitable Religious System
In the book of Hebrews is says:  “a different Priest, like Melchizedek, has appeared. 16 Jesus became a Priest, not by meeting the physical requirement of belonging to the tribe of Levi, but by the power of a life that cannot be destroyed. 17 And the psalmist pointed this out when he prophesied, "You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek." 18 Yes, the old requirement about the priesthood was set aside because it was weak and useless. 19 For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God. 20 This new system was established with a solemn oath. Aaron's descendants became priests without such an oath, 21 but there was an oath regarding Jesus. For God said to him, "The Lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow: 'You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.’” “ Hebrews 7:15-21, (NLT)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/7/15-21/s_1140015

Genesis 13 - Finding Intimacy with God
Genesis 13 – Finding Intimacy with God
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 13 - Finding Intimacy with God shows us that now Abram realizes the cause and the cost of losing his intimacy with God. Like Abraham, we can feel distanced in our relationship with Jesus because of our own sin or even the difficult circumstances we face within our own family. God has made a way for us to return to a place of genuine faith, gratitude and a hunger for God's Word. Listen to this week's message in Genesis 13 and learn how the Bible leads, guides and directs us back to a place of finding Intimacy with God and how to deal with family conflict.
LOST INTIMACY WITH GOD? RETURN TO THE PLACE OF THE ALTAR
A Place of GENUINE FAITH IN JESUS A Place of GRATITUDE & WORSHIP A Place where we HUNGER TO KNOW GOD’S WORD

Genesis 13 - Finding Intimacy with God

In the book of Acts is says: "Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and He will send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah."

HOW TO DEAL WITH FAMILY CONFLICT
    1) TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO RESOLVE THE DISPUTE 2) BE WILLING TO GIVE AWAY WHAT YOU DESERVE 3) PUT FAMILY HEALTH ABOVE YOUR DESIRES

It was our weaknesses He carried; it was our (sin) sorrows that weighed Him down. And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins! But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on Him(self) the sins of us all.

    1) PROFESSES FAITH IN GOD – BUT IS CONTROLLED BY HIS FLESH 2) HAS ONE FOOT IN THE KINGDOM / WORLD 3) LACKS GOOD FRUIT IN HIS LIFE
The Apostle Paul writes to the church in Corinth:  "Each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire." 1 Corinthians 3:8-15,( NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/1co/3/8-15/s_1065008

    Genesis 12 - Abram's Lapse of Faith
    Genesis 12 – Abram’s Lapse of Faith
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 12 - Abram's Lapse of Faith is a reminder that we all stumble in unbelief, but God's blessings come to us by His grace and not our merit. Everyone knows and experiences that life is hard! It's easy to blame God for suffering and hardship, but as a we grow in knowing God's person we see that He is building our character and trust in Him through trials and pain. It's temping to do what is right in our own eyes and according to our own ways, and like Abram God calls you to grow in faith. Pastor Dave's message in Genesis 12 - Abram's Lapse of Faith is an encouraging lesson teaching us that God loves you even when you fail.

    The Skeptic’s Say:

If God is good, He would wish to end all suffering and hardship. If God is Almighty, He would be able to do what he wished. But suffering and hardship exist. Therefore, God lacks either goodness, or power, or both.

How He ruthlessly perfects Whom He royally elects! How He hammers him and hurts him, – Anonymous And with mighty blows converts him Into trial shapes of clay which Only God understands. While his tortured heart is crying And he lifts beseeching hands! How He bends but never breaks When his good He undertakes. How He uses whom He chooses, And which every purpose fuses him; By every act induces him To try His splendor out- God knows what He’s about.

    Series: Genesis
Genesis 12 - The Abrahamic Covenant (Part 1) teaches us that God's covenant promises are always fulfilled. God calls Abram a sinful pagan man to follow Him not because Abram is better than others, but because God has a purpose for his life. This promised covenant from God means we can trust God has a purpose for our lives just like Abraham! Pastor Dave's message explains God's covenant with Abraham, how it relates to Israel and why God's covenant points us to Jesus today! Genesis 12 - The Abrahamic Covenant (Part 1) reveals that God's plans for your life are bigger than you can ever dream. The Apostle Paul wrote: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. 4 He (God) chose us in Him (Jesus) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love." In the book of Acts the disciple Stephen tells us: "The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, BEFORE HE DWELT IN HARAN, and said to him, 'Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.' Then he (Abram) came out of the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. And from there, when his father was dead, he moved him to this land in which you now dwell. " Acts 7:2-4, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/act/7/2-4/s_1025002
WHAT IS GOD’S PURPOSE FOR MAKING THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT? 1) TO MAKE ISRAEL GOD’S OWN SPECIAL PEOPLE 2) TO REVEAL THE ONE TRUE GOD TO ALL NATIONS 3) TO BRING JESUS, THE SAVIOR OF MANKIND, INTO THE WORLD The CONTENTS of the Abrahamic COVENANT 1) A PERMANENT HOMELAND (Israel) 2) A GREAT NATION / PEOPLE (Jews) 3) PERSONAL BLESSING AND GREATNESS (Abram / Jews) 4) DIVINE PROTECTION (Against Anti-Semitism) 5) DIVINE BLESSING UPON ALL NATIONS (Jesus)
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.

Genesis 11 - The Tower of Babel
Genesis 11 – The Tower of Babel
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 11 - The Tower of Babel reveals that the sinful nature of man was not removed after the flood.  We know that the ancient Babylonians were not a barbaric society, in fact they were quite advanced in many areas of science and agriculture and they were able to advance quite rapidly because the world had only one language.  Genesis 11 - The Tower of Babel is man's first attempt at a one world government.  It is also the beginning of the false religions.  It was sinful, corrupt and it's leader "Nimrod" rebelled against God.

What was the purpose of the Tower of Babel?

Nimrod – King of Babel – Genesis 10

Ancient Jewish Targum says: “He (Nimrod) was powerful in hunting and in wickedness before the Lord, for he was a hunter of the sons of men, and he said to them, “Depart from the judgment of the Lord, and adhere to the judgment of Nimrod!” Therefore it is said: “As Nimrod the strong one, strong in hunting, and in wickedness before the Lord."

Moses wrote: “for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the LORD. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed."

Genesis 7:17-24 -The Flood of Noah (Part 2), provides a clear historical account of a literal and global flood, which covered the entire earth! Could the flood really have covered the tallest mountains including Mount Everest? Isn't the flood just a mythological or allegorical story? The veracity of Noah's flood is found in fossilized evidence all over the world, which includes Mount Everest! Nearly every tradition from people groups on every continent, even dating back 4,000 years, points to a global and literal flood. The Flood of Noah was sent to judge the sin of mankind, but the Ark was provided to point us to Jesus. God's fervent desire is to save us from our sins both in Noah's time and also for us today. Genesis 7:17-24 -The Flood of Noah (Part 2) is a mind blowing message from the book of Genesis. Genesis 6-8 – The Flood of Noah (Part 1)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 6-8 - The Flood of Noah (Part 1), God proves through a global flood that He does bring judgment and punishes people for their sin. Does it ever seem like wicked people and evil continues to prosper unpunished in our world? Don't be fooled! God is patient and desires for mankind to repent of their evil ways, but He is not slow to fulfill His promises. Just like in the days of Noah it is important for us to understand we must be watchful for the return of Jesus before He shuts the door to salvation just as He shut the door to the Ark. Listen to a powerful message on the veracity of the global flood that took the world by surprise. Genesis 6-8 - The Flood of Noah (Part 1) is not some mythological or allegorical story; it is the foreshadowing of the day of reckoning for all mankind. The Flood of Noah - Genesis 6 THE FLOOD PROVES GOD DOES PUNISH PEOPLE FOR THEIR SIN
The Apostle Peter wrote: “Knowing this first, that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation." For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, (and by the word of God) the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. The heavens and the earth, which are now preserved by the same word (of God), are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:3-12, (NKJV)      https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/2pe/3/3-12/s_1159003

Genesis 6-8 - The Flood of Noah (Part 1)

Dr. Henry M Morris said: “The ark could’ve carried as many as 125,000 sheep-sized animals. Since there are not more than about 25,000 species of land animals known (that is mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians), either living or extinct, and since the average size of such animals is certainly much less than that of a sheep, it is obvious that all the animals could easily have been stored in less than half the capacity of Noah’s ark, each pair inappropriate rooms.”
Noah proclaimed God’s truth in a hostile culture By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. Hebrews 11:7, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/11/7/s_1144007 Genesis 7

Genesis 5 -6 - The Days of Noah
Genesis 5-6 – The Days of Noah
    Series: Genesis

Genesis 5 - 6 - The Days of Noah, provides valuable insight into why our world is filled with so much corruption and violence at every level of humanity. Have you ever been hurt, offended or cheated and wondered why is the world evil? How could perfect creation digress into such chaos and perversion? God's Word teaches that mankind has a sin nature, which means no amount of human effort, showing up to church or doing good deeds can possibly reform our flesh. The Bible also reveals that since the beginning Satan has been trying to destroy the lineage of the Messiah by corrupting the human race. Genesis 5 - 6 - The Days of Noah is an eye-opening message that unpacks exactly when God's flood of judgment happened. It shows us just how corrupt the earth was when the flood came and how similar the corruption level is in the time we now live just like The days of Noah.

Earth is already filled with VIOLENCE

    Why is the world EVIL?

    Man has a sin nature

Our only hope is to be Born Again in Jesus

Genesis 5 -6 - The Days of Noah

In the book of Jude is says: “And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own
abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the
judgment of the great day; (even) as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities
around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to
sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example,
suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
    Jude 1:6-7, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jde/1/6-7/s_1167006

As it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be when Jesus returns. Matthew 24:37

The Apostle Paul wrote: “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch
what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you
shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
    2 Corinthians 6:17-18, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/2co/6/17-18/s_1084017

Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto
Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before
Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God.
    Hebrews 12:1-2, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/heb/12/1-2/s_1145001

The concrete evidence of JESUS RESURRECTION

1 Corinthians 15 - The Power of Jesus

WHY SHOULD I MAKE JESUS LORD OF MY LIFE?

    1) HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS.

He was wounded (pierced) for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, every one, to his own way, and the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:5-6, (NKJV)  https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/isa/53/5-6/s_732005

    2) His life, death, and resurrection were foretold in the Bible

In the Book of Psalms is says: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire. ...Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Then I said, "Behold, I come. In the scroll of the book it is written of Me. I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within My heart." I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness to the great congregation.” Psalm 40:6-9, (NKJV)

Then He (Jesus) said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
    Luke 24:25-27, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/40/6-9/s_518006

    3) He rose from the dead alive

The Apostle Paul wrote: “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

    Series: Easter 2022
Matthew 26 - Good Friday introduces us to the "Passion Week of Jesus Christ," demonstrating the depths of Jesus' love for us and what he was willing to endure to restore us to a right relationship with God.  In this message we will be looking at passages from each of the four gospels, getting a full picture of what Jesus accomplished during this Passion Week of His ministry.  The Jewish religious leaders who are seeking to kill Jesus are aided by Judas one of Jesus' disciples who betrays Him for thirty pieces of silver.  Matthew 26 - Good Friday illustrates the reason we are commanded to partake in communion and to remember what Jesus did on the cross for us.

    Series: Easter 2022
John 12:1-19 - The Triumphant Entry of King Jesus takes place just after Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead and His fame is now exploding! Things are not always as they appear on the surface. On the surface Jesus' fame is exploding! Millions in Jerusalem are hailing Jesus as their King. With shouts of Hosana they praise their long awaited Messiah and beg Him to save now! To everyone’s surprise Jesus does not receive their praise but instead displays sorrow and heartache at their apparent worship. What was the problem? As you listen to The Triumphant Entry of King Jesus you will begin to see what Jesus is looking for in our worship. John 12:1-19 - The Triumphant Entry of King Jesus teaches us that even in the midst of false worship, Jesus systematically moves towards the cross to purchase our salvation.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds. who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. Genesis 4:1-25 - The Right Way to Come to God
Genesis 4:1-25 – The Right Way to Come to God
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 4:1-25 - The Right Way to Come to God, presents Adam and Eve's first child Cain, which reveals the truth that we cannot worship God any way we choose. Why do you go to church? Why do you volunteer time for community service? Is it to make yourself look good or is it your response to God's love for you? Cain's offering was rejected not because he brought the wrong stuff, but because he gave an offering to promote himself instead of worshiping God. Anger takes root in Cain's heart and leads to his brother's murder. Can your anger really lead to such a terrible crime? Sin separates us from God and we deceive ourselves when we think we have no sin. However, there is good news! God is not hard to please and He offers divine forgiveness for our sin. Genesis 4:1-25 - The Right Way to Come to God is found with a repentant heart, which results in God accepting you.

The Apostle Paul wrote: “As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one. There is none who understands. There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open tomb, with their tongues they have practiced deceit, the poison of asps is under their lips. Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood. Destruction and misery are in their ways, 17 and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:10-18, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rom/3/10-18/s_1049010

In the Book of Luke is says: He (Jesus) spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men: extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Moses wrote: “For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?' Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?' If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." Genesis 3:16-19 – The Fall of Man (Part 3)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 3:16-19 - The Fall of Man (Part 3) is where Adam and Eve learn the effects of their sin and how it carries into the most intimate areas of our lives and relationships. Why is there so much pain and difficulty in our relationships, work and day to day life? Like a garden in our own backyard, weeds grow on their own in our hearts and minds. Anger, lust and pride is natural growth due to our inherited sinful nature, which means weed pulling is a necessary part of our daily lives. Learn four practical ways to combat the weeds in your heart in order to properly manage the blessings God provides. You won't want to miss this message from Pastor David Menard as he encourages us in the hope of God's amazing story of redemption. Genesis 3:16-19 - The Fall of Man (Part 3) gives us understanding of how to apply spiritual round-up to root out the weeds that try to choke the good God has prepared for us.

CURSED IS THE GROUND FOR YOUR SAKE

Weeds grow of themselves – good crops must be cultivated - A symbol of our sin nature Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. GOD CANNOT BLESS US UNTIL OUR CHARACTER CAN PROPERLY MANAGE THE BLESSING

You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently. Oh, that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, when I look into all Your commandments. I will praise You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your righteous judgments. I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly! How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Psalm 119:4-11, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/psa/119/4-11/s_597004

For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Romans 7:15-19. (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/rom/7/15-19/s_1053015

Genesis 3:14-24 – The Fall of Man (Part 2)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 3:14-24 -The Fall of Man (Part 2) picks up right In the middle of the horrific mess of Adam’s sinful rebellion against God. Then the sovereign God steps in to unveil the profound depths of His plan of salvation. At “The Fall of Man”, Adam blames Eve, and even God Himself, for his sin. Why do we often blame others in an attempt to justify the wrong things we do? This passage is the protevangelium, the first gospel, reveled all the way back in the Garden of Eden. And through it, we see God preparing our redemption, even as we are sunk deep in sinful rebellion to God. We can trust, that even in adversity and chaos, God’s sovereignty is at work to bring grace and mercy through the Lord Jesus Christ Genesis 3:14-24 -The Fall of Man (Part 2), in the Garden of Eden, reveals God's pursuing heart to save sinners, and our assurance that He will destroy the enemy that tries to ruin us.

Genesis 3:1-13 - The Fall of Man
Genesis 3:1-13 – The Fall of Man (Part 1)
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 3:1-13 - The Fall of Man (Part 1) demonstrates that sin often looks desirable, perhaps even beneficial to our personal happiness and well-being. But nothing could be further from the truth. At The Fall of Man did Adam and Eve gain any benefit, knowledge, or special insight? Did they gain anything at all? No matter what benefit temptation promises, disobedience to God’s Word never adds to our life, it only takes away. Adam and Eve gained nothing but pain and suffering by partaking of the tree. The fall of man, in the Garden of Eden, clearly reveals that the consequences of sin are painful and horrific. Genesis 3:1-13 - The Fall of Man (Part 1) also reveals to us what it means to be spiritually dead and all that God is doing to restore us to abundant life in Jesus Christ.

One Command: DO NOT DECIDE WHAT IS GOOD AND EVIL

God created Adam with the capacity to COMPREHEND God’s love.

The tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil gave Adam the ability to RESPOND to God’s love.

Were Adam and Eve Real People?

Genesis 3:1-13 - The Fall of Man

The Apostle Paul wrote: “Just as death came into the world through one man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life." 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, (NLT)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nlt/1co/15/21-22/s_1077021

Genesis reveals: SATAN HATES HUMANS AND DEVISES PLANS TO HARM THEM

The Apostle John quotes Jesus saying: “NOW is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler of this world WILL BE cast out. And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all peoples to Myself." This He said, signifying by what death He would die.   John 12:31, (NKJV)   https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jhn/12/31/s_1009031

    Genesis 2:8-17 - God's Garden of Eden
    Genesis 2:8-17 – God’s Garden of Eden
    Series: Genesis
Genesis 2:8-17 - God's Garden of Eden reveals the very desires God had when He chose to create man. There is something sacred and tranquil about spending time a beautiful garden. It turns out we were created for this very thing. Unexpectedly, Eden reveals much about our deep-seated human needs. Tranquility and glory are words not often found in the same sentence. And yet humans long for both. The Garden of Eden reveals why. Genesis 2:8-17 - God's Garden of Eden is an insightful message that will help you better understand God, and yourself.

GOD HIMSELF PLANTED A GARDEN FOR MAN God desires fellowship with man In the book of Psalms it says: “O Lord my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent.” Psalm 104:1-2, (ESV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/esv/psa/104/1-2/s_582001   The Prophet Ezekiel it has (God speaking to Lucifer) "You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. "You were the anointed cherub who covers. I established you. You were on the holy mountain of God. You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.” Ezekiel 28:12-15, (NKJV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/eze/28/12-15/s_830012   YOU ARE A VESSEL CREATED TO REFLECT GOD AND DISPLAY HIS GLORY The Prophet Isaiah penned these words: “ Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend your money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. 3 Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you – the sure mercies of David.” Isaiah 55:1-3, (NKJV)    https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/isa/55/1-3/s_734001 God gives man divine purpose in God’s Kingdom: TEND & KEEP THE GARDEN The Apostle Paul wrote this: “And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14, (ESV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/esv/1th/5/14/s_1116014 “For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12, (ESV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/esv/2th/3/10-12/s_1119010

The Trees of the Garden 1) Pleasant to the sight 2) Good for Food 3) Tree of Life 4) The Knowledge of Good and Evil
The Apostle John quotes Jesus saying: “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10, (NKJV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/jhn/10/10/s_1007010 God created Adam with the capacity to COMPREHEND God’s love. The tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil gave Adam the ability to RESPOND to God’s love. OUR FREE CHOICE TO RESPOND/ REJECT GOD’S LOVE CAME AT A HIGH COST TO GOD One Command: DO NOT DECIDE WHAT IS GOOD AND EVIL The Prophet Isaiah wrote this inspiration from God: “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” Isaiah 5:20-21, (NKJV)     https://www.blueletterbible.org/nkjv/isa/5/20-21/s_684020 Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.
